Technologies in use
Cookies are small records that browsers send to the relevant server. localStorage and sessionStorage keep data in the browser without automatically sending it with every request. We use them for secure forms, cookie choices and your chosen sound preference. The organisation does not install its own advertising pixels, visitor analytics or cross-site tracking identifiers.
Essential records
The notalone_live_session cookie and XSRF-TOKEN support secure sessions and protection against forged form requests. They contain technical values, not plain-text answers. The ordinary idle session lifetime is 60 minutes; activity renews it. The session cookie name may depend on application configuration. Staff administration also uses separate authentication mechanisms.
The notalone:consent:v1 localStorage entry records the notice version, whether the external map is permitted, the choice date and a 180-day validity period. It respects your choice and contains no contact details or form answers. When it expires, preferences are requested again. The notalone:sound sessionStorage entry holds only on/off for sound until the tab session ends; tab restoration depends on the browser.
Forms are not saved as drafts in localStorage or sessionStorage. If submission fails, the secure server session may temporarily return entered values to the form. Blocking every browser cookie can prevent submission; declining the external map does not prevent an enquiry.
The notalone:accessibility:v1 localStorage entry stores only your reading preferences: text size, contrast, spacing, highlighted links, reduced motion and a large cursor. It contains no form answers or contact details and remains until you reset accessibility settings or clear the site’s data in your browser.
Google Maps is optional
Before permission, no embedded map is created and no request is sent to Google Maps. The address and a settings button appear instead. Allowing the map connects your browser to Google and transmits an IP address and technical details. Google may use its own cookies and associate the visit with a Google account depending on browser and account settings. Processing may occur outside Israel.
Third-party cookie types and lifetimes depend on Google, region, sign-in and settings. Current details: https://policies.google.com/technologies/cookies. Google privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy. Following a regular external link opens a separate website under its own policies; it is not an embedded map load.
Changing your choice
Open “Cookie settings” at the bottom of any page. Keep essential features only, permit the map or save a custom choice. The optional category starts off. Withdrawing permission removes the embedded map; existing Google cookies must be cleared through the browser or Google account because this site cannot delete another domain’s cookies.
“Accept all” allows every current category: essential features and Google Maps. The close button dismisses the banner: if there is no saved choice, essential features only are saved; an existing choice remains unchanged.
If browser storage is unavailable, your choice applies only to the current page and may be requested again on a later visit. Website fonts, images and videos load from our domain. Adding analytics or other optional services requires an updated notice and a fresh choice before activation. Questions: support@notalone.org.il.
